There’s a new analyst report out from The 451 Group, providing research on the success of Sophos Mobile Control (SMC), our mobile device management product. According to the report, SMC is growing in the small and mid-sized business market, protecting nearly 8,000 customers and more than 3.75 million users.
Read the report for this analysis of how Sophos Mobile Control is serving the SMB market and resource-constrained IT departments without a lot of expertise, while also serving the needs of Sophos Partners.
The report provides an overall review of SMC that includes positive remarks about SMC version 3.6, and describes the Sophos go-to-market and product strategy.
According to the analyst report:
With the latest version, Sophos is positioning its mobile device management (MDM) offering, Sophos Mobile Control (SMC), for the SMB market. Mobile Control has a simple console for IT, as well as a comprehensive user portal to reduce the impact on the IT helpdesk. Leveraging the company’s history, SMC has integrated malware and a secure Web browser. Also SMB friendly, SMC can be deployed as SaaS with user-based licensing to support ‘bring your own device’ deployments, where users may have more than one device that needs to be managed. To support small IT teams around the world, Sophos offers year-round 24-hour support.
In the report’s Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis, it says Sophos has “a strong existing international channel ecosystem that it can rely on to target SMBs in both developed and emerging markets.”
