Infosec 2018: Zombie armies, live demos, cryptocurrency explained, and more

What have we got lined up for you at Infosecurity Europe 2018?

The biggest security event in Europe is coming to London’s Olympia this week, 5 – 7 June.

If you’re heading to Infosecurity Europe 2018, make sure to visit us at stand F160 to get the low down on our great products, discuss your security challenges and needs, watch live demos and test your cybersecurity skills in virtual reality.

Our top experts will also be on hand at the stand and at sessions around the conference, where they’ll be presenting on the big topics in cybersecurity at the moment.

On Wednesday, 6 June from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm catch James Lyne’s presentation A Whirlwind Tour of the Latest Tactics & Techniques from Criminals, which is part of the Cyber Risks, Threats & Vulnerabilities & How to Defend Against Them panel session on the Keynote Stage.

You’ll then have time to grab a coffee before heading to the Tech Talk Forum where Paul Ducklin will be doing away with jargon and complicated explanations in his talk Cryptocurrency Explained in Plain English, from 12:40 pm – 1:05 pm.

On Thursday, 7 June, James Lyne will be receiving the special honour of being inducted into the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame, from 11:05 am – 11:45 am on the Keynote Stage.

And straight after, our very own CISO, Ross McKerchar, will be teaming up with Wendy Nather, Director, Advisory CISOs at Duo Security, from 11:45 am – 12:45 pm in the Information Security Exchange. They will be exploring how to create a truly usable and prescriptive security programme in their presentation, Discovering Effective Security.

At the stand

You’re also in for a treat at the Sophos stand (F160), where a range of talks, live demos and security deep dives will be taking place from 10:00 am – 3:30pm each day.

Our experts will be presenting on all manner of cybersecurity topics, from how to fix your digital tattoo to hacking Android devices to find out which apps are spying on you, as well as zombie armies, using root cause analysis to improve security, and how to get to grips with the Dark Web and machine learning. Visit the stand for a full list of talks.

Last, but certainly not least, while you’re there go into virtual reality and take a turn on our Deep Dimension game to test your skills at spotting exploits, identifying attacks and thinking on your (virtual) feet. The highest scorers each day will receive an Oculus Go VR Headset (worth £200)!

If you don’t make the top spot, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to grab yourself some smashing Sophos swag! (While supplies last. Be warned: our swag is popular.)

P.S. – Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @Sophos to get our latest #Infosec18 updates!
