Re: Checking that your third party “support” really are taking the contracted back-ups.

If you demand that they send encrypted DVDs to you – don’t test them by “overwriting” the production system!

Makes the case for multiple systems: Production, Development AND Recovery? But how many small business do that? With the price of hardware so low (compared to decades ago) and the cost of cloud computing so low, is the price of a “stand-by Recovery System” a good insurance?
