XG Firewall is Big NewsOur new Sophos XG Firewall with Security Heartbeat™ is really big news. Bigger than man-eating spiders, Elvis coming back, or an alien invasion. OK, we’re exaggerating. But it is a big deal – because your network firewall and endpoint security can finally talk to each other.

We’ve already explained some of the innovative new capabilities you’ll get with the XG Firewall, and talked about why we think our vision of synchronized security is a game-changer for the industry and for our customers and partners.

Now we want to show you what firewall and endpoint talking to each other looks like, in a fun way. Yes, security is a serious business. But we’re not afraid to have a sense of humor. And because Sophos makes security simple, IT admins have time to take a break now and again. So kick back and watch a few of our quirky videos.

Firewall and endpoint security never used to talk to each other before – but with Security Heartbeat, firewall and endpoint are getting along great.

We’re not kidding, this is really big news.

And if you want to know how Security Heartbeat works (for real), and what our vision for synchronized security looks like, here are some more videos to help you out.

I installed UTM Home edition on a spare PC at home a few months ago and it has been working too well. I have had several occasions when I wanted to install a utility from a trusted website but was unable to transfer the file / utility because it was blocked by UTM. I looked into the web protection area in UTM but was unable to figure out how to construct the rule to get the transfer to work. My only solution was to disable webfiltering when I needed to do a transfer.

I’m wondering if it would be better to install the Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition. Is it easier to customize? The documentation for the UTM product says what each function doesn’t tell how to construct a filter from user’s perspective. The number of different log files is overwhelming. I don’t know where to look to find the information I need.

Can you provide some guidance?
